The Bot and Bull article library, every trading bot guide in one place.

Welcome to the Bot and Bull article library. This is every guide I have published on building and running an automated stock trading bot, from the first setup to the bugs I had to fix along the way. Whatever part of the build you are on, the goal is always the same: show you exactly how it works so you can do it yourself. Nothing here is fluff or a paid placement dressed up as a review.

How to Use the Bot and Bull Article Library

Every post below is listed newest first, so the top of the article library is where the most recent lessons live. If you are brand new to the project, you do not have to read them in order. Each guide stands on its own, and I link back to earlier posts whenever a topic builds on something I covered before. Skim the titles, open whatever matches the problem you are trying to solve, and come back for the rest when you need it.

I write these the same way I would explain the build to a friend over coffee. That means plain language, real numbers where I can share them, and the parts that went wrong sitting right next to the parts that worked. You will not find a filler list of brokers here that exists only to earn a commission. When I mention a tool, it is because I actually use it, and I tell you why.

Where to Start

If you want the origin story, begin with how I built an automated trading bot with no coding background. From there, the setup guide walks through standing one up on Robinhood from scratch. Once the basics click, the crypto and watchlist posts show how I expanded it, and the bumps and bruises series is an honest look at the errors nobody warns you about. Read those and you will have the full arc of the build, from the first line of code to the day the bot correctly decided to buy nothing.

What You Will Learn Here

Taken together, these guides cover the whole picture. Choosing a broker that allows automated trading. Setting up a server to run the bot around the clock. Writing the logic that decides what to buy and when to step back. And keeping the whole thing alive when the market does something you never planned for. I am not a professional developer and I did not start with a finance degree, so nothing here assumes you have either.

New guides go up on a regular cadence, so the article library keeps growing as the bot keeps evolving. Bookmark this page, check back when you hit a wall in your own build, and treat it as the map for the whole journey. If a topic you are looking for is missing, it usually just means I have not run into that problem yet.

The point of doing this in public is simple. Most trading bot content online is either a sales pitch or a wall of code with no story attached. I wanted a plain record of what it actually takes, written by someone who is still figuring it out, so you can see the real path instead of a polished highlight reel.
